Chick-fil-A Introduces New Macaroni and Cheese Side Nationwide

Your Chick-fil-A order just got a little bit cheesier. Starting on Monday, August 12, customers of the fast-food chain will be able to add Macaroni & Cheese to their order as a new side. Available with lunch and dinner or as a side in the Kid's Meal, this mac & cheese is the first permanent side addition to hit menus since 2016, when they added their superfood side with broccoli and kale.

Chick-Fil-A's New Macaroni and Cheese Now Available

"Mac & Cheese is the quintessential comfort food, and something we are so excited to offer our guests at Chick-fil-A," Amanda Norris, Chick-fil-A executive director of menu and packaging, said in Monday's announcement. According to the brand, the new mac and cheese menu item is prepared with a special blend of cheeses including cheddar, Parmesan and Romano cheeses. The price of the new mac and cheese starts at $2.99.

"We have a very high bar when it comes to adding a menu item," Norris said in the statement, "but the feedback from our customers in the test markets made this decision easy. I am excited it will be available for all of our guests across the country."

This isn't the first time customers have seen classic macaroni and cheese as a side option to their original chicken sandwich. Last year the brand was testing mac and cheese in select markets including Baltimore, Maryland, Greensboro, North Carolina, Houston and San Antonio, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, and Phoenix, Arizona. The limited-time test proved that the side dish was a perfect pairing to the chicken offerings.

Macaroni and cheese isn't the only new item hitting the menu. New Frosted Caramel drinks are now available at participating restaurants through Nov. 9 while supplies last. The drink features "Chick-fil-A's custom blend of cold-brewed coffee with vanilla Icedream dessert and caramel syrup. Yum!
