How to Make Chick-fil-A's Beloved Chicken Salad at Home

There's no denying that Chick-fil-A is one of the most successful fast food restaurants around. With its deep-seeded family values that gives its crew members off on Sundays across the country to its menu items that are always made to standard. So when the chain announced that they were removing their beloved Chicken Salad from the menu, despite all of their other fantastic additions, we were quite sad.

As of September 30, 2017, the Chicken Salad is no longer on the menu at Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide. Whether you loved it in sandwich form or in true salad form, the Chicken Salad fed many a mom between sports practices and music lesson carpools. So why are they removing it?

Well, as spokeswoman Leigh Jackson told Southern Living,

"The decision to remove Chicken Salad from the menu was a difficult one. We know that many of our customers loved our Chicken Salad, but we have also heard from guests that they are looking for new tastes and fresh flavors on the menu in our restaurants."

Well, we were sad. Until we stumbled across the best parting gift Chick-fil-A could give us all. That's right. The restaurant posted the full recipe online so their patrons could continue to enjoy the Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad in their own homes. We'd like to see other fast food chains make this move when they remove items from menus unexpectedly, but alas, for now we just thank them.

Make it and turn it into a chicken salad sandwich or even a chicken salad taco. Live your best lives, y'all! So are you ready for the copycat recipe?

Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Ingredients

  • 4 Chick-fil-A Chicken Breasts, cooled and cubed
  • About 1.5 full stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

These pantry ingredients are staples in almost every home, which means you're only a few minutes away from this beloved chicken salad at all times. For healthy choices, you can swap in Greek yogurt for the mayonnaise and serve up the sandwich on wheat bread.

Because it's unclear if the chicken chain will ever add it back into their rotation, it's a good thing they gave you the recipe! For the full directions (grab your food processor because you'll need it!), head on over to the Chicken Wire from Chick-fil-A.
