Champagne Can Help Prevent Onset of Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia

Time to up those weekend doses of brunch mimosas and start celebrating more things in life. A study released from Reading University revealed that drinking three glasses of champagne per week "can help prevent dementia and Alzheimer's disease." The study pinpointed the prevention of on-set brain diseases to a compound found in the black grapes used in making those sweet, bubbly bottles of celebration.

Wine studies are quite common these days, with new benefits from the elixir found seemingly every week; however, this is the first study that focuses specifically on champagne. Professor Jeremy Spencer said about the study, "These exciting results illustrate for the first time that the moderate consumption of champagne has the potential to influence cognitive functioning, such as memory."

This research was found in a study involving experimentation with rats. The next step in determining viability is to carry out the study on humans. Regardless, use this as a reminder to start celebrating the small victories in life, like mastering your own chili recipe, or making it to Friday without any major mishaps.

So now that we've settled how fantastic champagne is for you, why not try out these three recipes this weekend?
