Are You Ready To Try Candy Corona?

With everything going on in the world, there's no better time for you to learn about candy corona. Fortunately, candy corona has nothing to do with the virus "corona," nor is it something you'll find at the candy store. Instead, candy corona is actually a drink. It also happens to be the title of a mixtape by rapper Game, but that's a story for another time.

Candy corona is a drink recipe for people who like the taste of beer but can't tolerate it for too long. It basically takes two alcoholic drinks and mixes them together to make a cocktail. It's very reminiscent of a candy apple martini, which uses cranberry juice, candy apple liquor, vodka, and grenadine.

If this sounds like a drink you'd love, read ahead for this candy corona recipe.

What's in a Candy Corona?

This popular drink is actually pretty easy to put together. You most likely have everything you'll need at home.

You take a regular bottle of Corona lager and throw in 1 oz grenadine syrup. It's basically a red corona because you can just add the shot of grenadine to the bottle itself.

If you want to take it up a notch, there's a Pinterest recipe using similar ingredients but adding 1 shot of vodka, and topping it with a slice of cherry. Replace the cherry with a lime and you can follow the exact recipe in the video below. If you're feeling really wild you can even add ice cream, for a sort of alcoholic float. It's certainly better than overpriced drinks at Starbucks!

Origins of Candy Corona.

Being the internet, it's hard to tell where this drink came from. That being said, this favorite cocktail recipe is all over the internet. Do we really need someone to tell us that these two ingredients make a delicious recipe? Probably not.

What the internet does tell us though is that if you were to walk around with a red corona in your hand, it would turn heads. With a gorgeous red color perfect for Instagram photos, this drink is certainly photogenic. If you're watching your carbohydrates it might not be a great choice, but honestly, who cares about carbs when you're drinking? Skip the margarita and grab a serving of red corona.
