The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and Uno Foods Inc., based in Brockton, Massachusetts, are recalling approximately 1,881 pounds of ham and cheese calzones due to misbranding. The calzone package is labeled as a ham and cheese calzone, but it actually contains a buffalo chicken calzone.
The calzone recall is for buffalo chicken calzones produced on May 1, 2018, and packaged in a box meant for the ham and cheese calzones. The misbranded boxes were sent out through distribution facilities to retail stores in Chicago and Texas. If you've purchased Uno Pizzeria & Grill ham and cheese calzones this month and live in those areas, check your freezer to see if you have one of the recalled packages.

The best way to tell if you have a box that is part of the calzone recall is to look at the product label. The calzone boxes are 8-count packages containing 6-oz. individually cello-wrapped "UNO PIZZERIA & GRILL Ham & Cheese handcrafted Calzone" and have a "Best if Used By" date of May 1, 2019, and a "8121" package code. The recalled calzones also have "EST. 17426" printed inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered on May 22 after Uno Foods received a complaint from a customer about the product. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these calzone products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
