I confess that when it comes to Bulleit Whiskey, my thoughts immediately turn towards sipping on a Bulleit Rye Manhattan. Can you blame me? I'm in the mood to switch it up though, so I'm trading in my Manhattan for a piping hot seasonal, boozy mug of Bulleit Hot Toddy. Teaming up with Smith Teamaker in Portland, Oregon, Bulleit released three new hot toddy recipes just in time for hot toddy season.

This is a quick match made in winter cocktail heaven. The smoothness of Bulleit poured into a mug of Smith Teamaker's handcrafted tea sounds like the best hot toddy recipe you could brew up. With temperatures dropping this winter, you'll be happy to snuggle up with these relaxing, comforting hot toddy recipes.

1. Hot for Rye Toddy

You don't need a sore throat as an excuse to imbibe The Hot for Rye Toddy. Smith Teamaker Red Nectar - a blend of roobois and honeybush - is steeped in a mug for five minutes with hot water, allowing the herbal infusion to enhance the cocktail with woody, fruity notes. From there, it only gets better by adding an ounce and a quarter of Bulleit Rye.

The blend of the tea paired with the vanilla and oak characteristics of Bulleit Rye take this hot toddy to the next level. Drink it straight or doctor it up with a twist of citrus, honey, and spice for a comforting hot toddy worthy of a roaring fire on a winter night.

Directions

  • Place 1 Smith Teamaker Red Nectar sachet in a cup or mug
  •  Add boiling water, leaving room for the whiskey
  • Steep 5 min
  • Add 1 1/4 oz. Bulleit Rye
  • Remove tea sachet

The Kentucky Meadow Hot Toddy was made for a cold winter night. With comforting notes of apple and spice, this hot toddy cocktail will warm you to the core with a splash of smooth Bulleit Bourbon, while the chamomile in Smith Teamaker Meadow soothes you into relaxation.

Floral, woody, and apple to the core, the mulled spice notes from the extra cinnamon and nutmeg taste even better when enjoyed in the appropriate drinking vessel. Like a Moscow mule in a copper mug, the Kentucky Meadow Hot Toddy is best when served in an orange Bulleit coffee mug. Don't believe me? Give it a try.

Directions

  • Place 1 Smith Teamaker Meadow sachet in a cup or mug
  • Add boiling water, leaving room for the whiskey
  • Steep 5 min
