Buc-ee's Loses #1 Spot in Texas for Top-Rated Restrooms

Texans, how could we let this happen? GasBuddy's new consumer survey rating for the restrooms in the U.S. for each state reveals that Buc-ee's no longer has the highest rated restrooms in the state. Instead, our favorite beaver lost out to QuickTrip, the Tusla, Oklahoma-based pit stop.

GasBuddies, or users of the site, filed about 1.5 million reviews since September 2016 and 7.2 million individual reviews that rate locations where gas is sold. Over 140,000 locations were represented, and if you want to start rating and ranking to get Buc-ee's back on top, start logging your reviews using the GasBuddy app.

The information for this survey was gleaned from those reviews specifically between March 1, 2016 and April 30, 2017. For a brand to register, it must have at least 20 locations in the state. Who let QuikTrip get 20 locations in Texas, y'all!?

QuikTrip didn't just sweep Texas and Oklahoma, but it also swept away the competition in Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

As Frank Beard, the convenience store and retail trends analyst, at GasBuddy said,

"Today's customers expect more than a key attached to a hubcap or a sign informing visitors that restrooms are for 'paying customers only'. As someone who has visited more than 1,000 c-stores in 24 states, I've seen that many leading convenience stores have already separated themselves from the competition by making restroom quality a priority."

Judging by the beloved candy wall at Buc-ee's and the Texas pride that is inherently linked to the gas station resort, more than a few Lone Star Staters might disagree with this survey completely.
