Blue Bell and Pillsbury Should Team Up For Cookie Dough Ice Cream

When I think of cookie dough, one brand comes to mind, and that's Pillsbury. When I think of ice cream, my mind goes to Blue Bell. As a Texan, it's Blue Bell to the end. Even though they're not native to Texas, Pillsbury cookies are my favorite cookies of all time! If you haven't read my ode to Pillsbury yet, check it out. Pillsbury cookies were a huge part of my childhood and still hold a place in my freezer and heart to this day.

I can say the same thing about Blue Bell Ice Cream. Especially vanilla ice cream! Sometimes when my sweet tooth is working hard I have to decide which one I'm going to indulge in. Chocolate chip cookies or my favorite ice cream? I thought I settled this craving with Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, until I had an unattainable craving. I thought to myself, "Why didn't Blue Bell team up with Pillsbury for their chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream?"

I'm no stranger to eating raw Pillsbury cookie dough. I don't condone it, but I definitely take a few chunks of cookie dough off the baking sheet before I actually put it in the oven. I can't help it! It's one of the best cookie dough recipes out there. If anyone on the Blue Bell marketing team is struggling with a new ice cream recipe, here's an idea. You've got a huge audience that's loyal to Pillsbury and Blue Bell!

As I was adding egg yolks, vanilla extract, and mini chocolate chips to my shopping cart, I was thinking, why am I trying to recreate this at home from scratch? I ditched the mixing bowl and and ice cream maker and decided to do this the easy way. I know everyone has their weird food combinations, but I don't find this odd at all. I decided to to buy a gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream and Pillsbury cookies and make a yummy treat.

For the sake of not getting salmonella, I baked a batch of Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies and put cookie pieces in my Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream. Although, I did try a few bites of the raw cookie dough pieces with the ice cream. I don't recommend doing it (unless you're brave) but it was delicious.

If you don't have Blue Bell where you live, I'm so sorry. I decided to skip the homemade ice cream process, but you don't have to. Ice cream makers are available on Amazon, and you can grab just about everything you need from Amazon pantry to make your own vanilla ice cream. From heavy cream, brown sugar, all purpose flour, and cream mixture, they have it all.

The point of this story is, Pillsbury cookie dough chunks sure do beat whatever Blue Bell is currently using! So Blue Bell and Pillsbury, it's time to team up for an eggless dough just for a new chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream flavor. For now, I'm loading a large bowl of vanilla ice cream with Pillsbury cookie crumble and fudge.
