Blue Bell Releases New Cookie Dough Overload Flavor
The newest ice cream was created with the consumer in mind. Joe Robertson, executive director of advertising and marketing for Blue Bell, shared with KJRH, "Cookie dough is a popular mix-in for ice cream. We have flavors that contain the chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter cookie dough pieces. But, this is the first with fudge cookie dough pieces. It is a great-tasting trio!"
It's the first new flavor for the Blue Bell ice cream brand in 2020 and we are pumped to try it. Available in for a limited time, the cookie dough overload ice cream will be sold in both pint sizes and half-gallon. I don't know about you, but that half-gallon has my name on it.

Did you know people didn't eat cookie dough ice cream until the 1990s? For real! Back in 1984 Ben & Jerry's was just a small scoop shop in Burlington, Vermont. Someone added "cookie dough ice cream" to their suggested flavor board and it became an instant hit. By 1991 the brand was selling pints of the flavor and other ice cream companies like Dreyer's and Mrs. Field's quickly jumped at the opportunity. Today cookie dough ice cream is one of the most popular ice cream flavors behind chocolate and vanilla.
