Nothing says "Happy Birthday" better than celebrating with birthday cake. If you prefer birthday cake, we've mentioned which one best represents your birthday month, but what about changing things up a bit. This year, try giving birthday pie a chance. Flaky pie crust, pie filling, and finished with toppings like whipped cream, meringue or ice cream, pie is an unexpected way to finish off a fun birthday party. And if you can't settle for just pie, have a cake too!
Here's a list of 12 birthday pies that best represent every month of the year. Check them out below.
1. January: Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie
Kick regular pecan pie up a notch with this decadent pie recipe. With the addition of dark chocolate chips and bourbon, you can't go wrong with this one.
Helpful tip: after rolling out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface, line your pie pan and par-bake the crust. This will prevent the bottom of the crust from becoming soggy and unappetizing. Here's the recipe.
2. February: Cherry Pie
Did you know that National Cherry Pie Days falls in February? So, it's only filling to celebrate a February birthday with Cherry Pie. The filling made with fresh, frozen or canned cherries, a little sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and almond and vanilla extracts, it only takes a few simple ingredients to put together this birthday pie.
We highly recommend serving this with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Here's the recipe.
3. March: Grasshopper Pie
We can't help but see everything in green during the month of March! Check out The Pioneer Woman's take on Grasshopper Pie. This classic cream pie is the perfect combination of mint and chocolate. Here's the recipe.
4. April: Lemon Meringue Pie
It's springtime and we're all about fresh, bright flavors this season. Creamy Lemon Meringue Pie is the perfect, tangy addition to any birthday festivity.

Make the most out of these seasonal fruits with a simple Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. This pie is a great way to satisfy anyone craving sweet and tart flavors. If you're short on time, feel free to use a pre-made pie crust.
6. June: Country Peach Pie
Juicy peaches in a tender butter pie crust make this a wonderful dessert for any June baby. If you can't find fresh peaches, feel free to use frozen peaches. Here's the recipe.
7. July: Blueberry Crumble Pie
With blueberries being insanely plump and flavorful in July, there's no doubt that Blueberry Crumble Pie has to be on the menu for the birthday celebration.
The cornstarch in the pie filling will help to nicely thicken up the blueberries, so you're left with an almost jam-like consistency. Here's the recipe.
8. August: Coconut Key Lime Pie
Coconut Key Lime Pie is one of my favorite summertime pies. It's always a huge hit and the combination of tart key lime juice and rich coconut cream will have you thinking you're on a vacation in the tropics.
9. September: Chocolate Cream Pie
School is back in session, summer is coming to an end, so why not indulge in a rich chocolate pie. Feel free to use any type of chocolate chips you like- semi-sweet, milk, or bittersweet work nicely in this recipe. Here's the recipe.
10. October: Apple Crumb Cheesecake Pie
Combine two favorites, apple pie and cheesecake, for a twist on regular apple pie. With the creamy cheesecake layer and spiced apple filling, you and your guests might have a hard time waiting until dessert to slice into this one.
11. November: Buttermilk Chess Pie
November is the month for pie. Between Thanksgiving and other November get-togethers, you can't escape pie!
Since you'll probably be enjoying an apple, pecan, or pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, switch things up by making a Buttermilk Chess Pie. Slightly sweet and tangy from the buttermilk, this pie is made for November birthday parties. You can make this pie ahead of time and serve at room temperature. Here's the recipe.
12. December: Cranberry-Raspberry Cream Pie
This pretty pie is nice to bring along for the holidays but also makes the perfect birthday pie. The sweet cranberry-raspberry topping really compliments the cream cheese filling.
