Can't decide on cupcakes or an ice cream sundae? No need to think it out because birthday cake ice cream is here to save the day! And it's not just any kind of ice cream, it's homemade thanks to the new Pioneer Woman Ice Cream Maker. Perfect for your country kitchen, whip up a batch of The Pioneer Woman's birthday cake ice cream in a large bowl and top it with hot fudge and rainbow sprinkles.

Check out the Pioneer Woman 4 Quart Ice Cream Maker

Nothing can compare to homemade ice cream made in an ice cream maker. Stylist enough to be placed on your kitchen counter year-round, this ice cream machine features a real wood exterior accented with Ree's Sweet Rose pattern. Enjoy ice cream in 30 minutes or less with almost zero prep time. Now that's a dessert I can get behind!

Along with the machine, Walmart also carries rock salt to keep your ice cold and 2-quart mix packets to make your ice cream. Flavors include birthday cake mix, mint chocolate chip, toffee caramel, and salted caramel.

Shelf-stable, these mixes only require milk and heavy cream, making homemade ice cream a snap to put together. Ingredients include sugar, rainbow sprinkles (sugar, corn starch, palm oil), dextrose, maltodextrin, whey, natural flavor, gum arabic, medium-chain triglycerides, stabilizer blend (guar gum, carrageenan, maltodextrin) butter, nonfat milk, canola oil, red beet juice concentrate.

How to Make Birthday Cake Ice Cream

Before starting, chill the ice cream container in the freezer for at least 2-3 hours. Your whole milk and heavy whipping cream should be cold as well before adding them to the ice cream base.

In a large bowl combine the milk, heavy whipping cream, and ice cream mix and stir until the dry mixture is dissolved.

Pour the birthday cake ice cream recipe into the ice cream machine and churn ice cream until soft and creamy, about 30 minutes. Remove the cream mixture from the canister and freeze until solid, about 4 hours.

Combine that cake flavor into a delicious dessert. Scoop your birthday cake ice cream into a bowl and top with your favorite toppings. I am partial to hot fudge and whipped cream, but the sky is the limit. Add on peanut butter, cake pieces, or even a slice of a brownie. This is your frozen dessert!
