The 10 Best Breakfast Tacos in Texas

One of the things I love about America is its highly diverse cusine. Depending on where you are, breakfast could be a showcase of local favorites. Georgia has grits, Califonia has avocado toast, and Texas has the breakfast taco and breakfast burrito. Filled with anything from scrambled eggs and crispy chorizo to brisket and queso, if you eat it before noon, it's a breakfast taco.

To get a full-perspective I asked our readers and my Texas-bred co-workers what they suggest to be the best breakfast tacos in Texas. There are no chains here (sorry Tacodeli and Torchy's Tacos), just warm tortillas and delicious fillings served up by bonafide Texan businesses.

Trigger warning: There are a few places on here that sell breakfast burritos instead of breakfast tacos. Some places (ahem, North Texas) seem to like their tacos a little bigger and roll the same ingredients up in a larger tortilla and call it a burrito. And to make things even more confusing some places in South Texas roll their tortillas and call them tacos when in reality they are more like burritos.
