Tacos are awesome. That pretty much sums it up, really. The only problem is that often you finish your tacos only to wish that you had even more. Well, one restaurant has finally heard your plea. To celebrate National Taco Day on Oct. 4, Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is offering the Taco Gigante to help satisfy even your wildest cravings. This New England-based Mexican chain is not only selling this behemoth of a taco, but they are designing a contest around its consumption.
This contest at the Mexican food joint involves brave-hearted customers from Maine to Connecticut to New Jersey attempting to eat their way all the way through this massive footlong, two-pound taco that'll only be available for purchase until the end of the month of October.
Yes, this monster taco is two pounds of goodness and not for the faint of heart. The monstrosity is filled with lettuce, refried beans, Mexican rice, ground beef, chicken, carnitas, cheese, salsa fresca, bacon, queso, hacienda sauce, picante sauce, crema and pickled jalapeños.
Don't worry, that's the full list of fillings, there's nothing else that they could add in anyways!
Surprisingly, this magnificent Mexican monstrosity is only $13. Fortunately, the price is reasonable, because you're going to have to pay it the first time you want to have a go at eating this entire two-pound wonder.
However, if you are able to finish one of these enormous tacos, you will have your photo put on the restaurant's Wall of Fame and forever have bragging rights that you were able to finish the Taco Gigante Challenge.
The only exception to the payment rule is on October 4, National Taco Day, where all who wish to take on the challenge will receive a voucher to either return to Margaritas and take the challenge a second time, or nominate a friend to give it a shot.
So, if you really like tacos and you're feeling like proving that you can actually eat your weight in tacos, you'd better get down to a Margaritas on October 4th because this challenge is for you.
