Talk about a victory for the common man. After the item disappeared from menus last year, Taco Bell's Beefy Crunch Burrito is back--thanks to the efforts of the 64,000-strong-and-counting Beefy Crunch Movement, a group of fans whose ultimate goal is seeing the permanent reinstatement of their favorite item to the menu.
As Brand Eating reports, it seems the movement is halfway successful. Taco Bell reintroduced the item July 13 to a total of 19 stores around the country, selected "based off the closest locations to the proximity of the most Beefy Crunch Movement members across the country," said a representative for Taco Bell.
For those who don't know, the Beefy Crunch Burrito is made with seasoned ground beef, gooey nacho cheese sauce, seasoned rice, Flamin' Hot Fritos corn chips and a dollop of sour cream, wrapped up in a flour tortilla.
Though the movement won the battle, the war rages on -- there's no word yet if the Beefy Crunch Burrito will make it back to the menu for good, and supplies at participating restaurants are going fast.
Still, it's nice to see people band together to save something they love -- even when that something is a burrito full of Flamin' Hot Fritos. Keep up with the Movement via Facebook.
