Limited-Time BBQ Fritos Combine Corn Chips With Much Loved Summer Flavors

2020 was quite the year, but perhaps the most shocking news was the re-release of the Frito Lay BBQ Fritos corn chips. The flavor had been discontinued in 2018 and left a gaping hole in the grocery store snack aisle that no potato chip or corn snack could fill.

Like a ray of snack sunshine in the otherwise dismal 2020, Fritos bar-b-q corn chips were brought back for the summer and exclusively sold at Dollar General stores across the country. They appeared for a limited time in 1-ounce bags and 9.25-ounce bags and America was happy for a little while.

Whether Frito Lay decided to re-release BBQ Fritos because of the Change.org petition with over 20,000 names on it, or for other reasons, we may never know, but that's a sure sign that these BBQ flavored corn snacks were special.

Along with the BBQ Fritos in the summer of 2020, Fritos paid tribute to America's military and first responders. The red, white, and blue packaging along with a hefty donation to the Carry the Load non-profit organization made it a patriotic snack.

Fortunately for all of us, BBQ Fritos are back!

For two strange summers in a row, you can add Fritos Bar-B-Q Corn Chips to your snack rotation again. They should be easier to locate, too. You can get bags at most major grocery stores, major retailers, and of course Amazon.

Listen, we know you are what you eat. Maybe that's why I'm always smiling, because I love chips. Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos tortilla chips, Ruffles cheddar potato chips— you name it, I'll crunch it.

I've even tried the Flamin' Hot Crunchy Cheetos on a dare. I'm a weakling when it comes to spice. I've demolished a cylindrical can of Pringles while singing along with Carrie Underwood on road trips.

Still, there's a special place in my heart for Fritos. That salty sweet roasted corn flavor is just so good. Fritos Flavor Twists Honey BBQ Flavored, Fritos chili cheese flavor with a vat of sour cream for dipping, or just the original corn chips or Scoops corn chips for heavy dip lifting are perfect for most occasions.

Fritos have been around for over 80 years. All that corn oil, garlic powder, natural and artificial flavors combined with the mysterious magic of disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate make this treat crunchy carbohydrate heaven.

Don't spend too much time reading the nutrition facts or daily value percentages on something as delicious as BBQ Fritos or the like. Just enjoy their deliciousness. Still, it's is great to know that they contain no trans fat or cholesterol and each serving only has 160 calories!
