Ballast Point Will Become Disneyland's First Brewery

Hear the word Disneyland and you probably conjure up magical childhood memories of meeting your favorite Disney characters and anxiously waiting in anticipation as you were about to step aboard the Pirates of the Caribbean. Well, I'm here to tell you that's all about to change. Now when you hear the word Disneyland, you'll start conjuring up images of beer - Ballast Point beer to be exact. Disneyland and Ballast Point Brewing Company are partnering up to open Disneyland's first ever brewery.

The new brewery is set to open up in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort in late 2018. The 7,300 square foot facility will feature a three-barrel system for the research and development team, a restaurant, and of course, an outdoor beer garden.

With the edition of Disneyland as it's eight location, six of those being tasting rooms in California, it looks like there's no stopping Ballast Point. What once began with a humble pair of homebrewers back in 1996 has now turned into an empire that original founder Jack White himself probably couldn't even have imagined. Now owned by Constellation Brands, the Disneyland opening was a move to strengthen their Southern California presence. President of Ballast Point Brewing Company Marty Birkel stated in a Constellation Brands press release:

"As one of Southern California's premier brewers, for the team at Ballast Point, we couldn't be more honored to work with such an icon in our great state and become the first brewer at Downtown Disney. We hope SoCal locals and visitors alike will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, seasonal cuisine, and good cheer (and beer) of our signature tap room experience that we plan to bring to Disney."

The family friendly restaurant will offer "a taste of San Diego" with locally sourced ingredients, featuring menu items like Baja-style fish tacos and house-made pretzels. The seasonally inspired menu will highlight beer pairings as well as beer in the food itself. And when it comes to food quality, like their beer they will only serve the best. That means steroid and antibiotic-free proteins and line-caught fish fill be on the menu.

If you're wondering what's on tap, they will offer signature Ballast Point brews like Sculpin IPA and Commodore American Stout, while also offering up limited-edition beers that are exclusive to that location. Exclusive beers and phenomenal fare? Forget the rides, leave me at the brewpub.
