Apple Cider Doughnuts Made Easy with Bisquick

No visit to the apple orchard is complete without a box of hot and fresh apple cider donuts. But what if you are craving them, right this second? This donut recipe is for you! Crispy, golden brown, mini donuts are so fun to make! These apple cider Bisquick donut holes make it easy to have fresh donuts any time of the day!

What are Bisquick Donuts?

Did you know Bisquick baking mix can be used for more than pancakes and quick breads? This Bisquick donut recipe is fried in hot oil, however, some Bisquick donut recipes can also be baked or even fried in the air fryer, depending on how thick the batter or dough is. I'm not the biggest fan of cake donuts, so these little desserts are deep-fried in a pot of oil. It's one of my favorite recipes to share with friends when they are visiting from out of town!

How to Make Apple Cider Bisquick Doughnut Holes

To start, heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a saucepan or pot over medium heat. You want it to be around 350F when frying donuts.

Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl combine the Bisquick, flour, sugar, and spices.

In a separate medium bowl combine the egg and apple cider. Add into the flour mixture and stir, combing all the bits of flour into the wet. The batter will be very thick!

Using a large spoon or small cookie scoop, drop batter balls into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels and shake in a paper bag filled with cinnamon sugar. Dust with powdered sugar and pumpkin spice if desired.

This dessert recipe makes a great addition to any brunch!
