Aldi's Recalls 35,000 Mini Deep Fryers Due To Fire Hazard

Aldi's, the German retailer, is known for their no-nonsense shopping and unbeatable prices. While you do have to "rent" the grocery carts and bag your own groceries in your personal reusable bag, Aldi's does it to keep the prices down. And that's something everyone loves. Along with groceries, Aldi carries an aisle of seasonal housewares at a fraction of the price at other retailers. However, earlier this month Aldi voluntary recalled over 35,000 mini deep fryers due to fire hazards and burn hazards.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Ambiano mini deep fryers contain a heating element that could catch on fire. In fact, three incidents have be reported to the CPSC of minor property damage due to a faulty deep fryer heating element. Not something you want to deal with while deep-frying some mini donuts or even a corndog.

The Stainless Steel Ambiano Mini Deep Fryer was sold at local Aldi stores from February 2018 to March 2018 for a price of around $15. There is also a Red Ambiano Mini Deep Fryer which the recall affects as well. The recalled deep fryers have a black lid and include a metal food basket. The barcode numbers are "20072483" for the stainless steel and "20072490" for the red version.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured from this dangerous product, however consumers with this product should return the deep fryers to a local Aldi's to receive a full refund. Consumers who have the product can also contact ALDI at 1-800-336-9967 or find out more information on their site.

While at Aldi's make sure to check out their new gear for the summer and even some great deals on camping gear like this Adventuridge Wearable Sleeping Bag.

The store is also selling normal sleeping bags, a portable table with benches, air lounges, and even a two-room tent to bring with you to the campground.
