6 Dallas Eateries That Appeared on 'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives'

You either love or hate Guy Fieri, there's really no in-between with his polarizing persona of bleached tips. On his Food Network TV show, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, Fieri has taken his beloved car around to at least six Dallas, Texas eateries.

Why does appearing on the show matter so much? If you haven't read Thrillist's great breakdown of the Fieri effect by Wil Fulton, check it out here. If you're not in the mood for a long read, all you need to know that Fieri warns restaurants and eateries to "be ready for a 200% increase in business." In the case of Griffin Bufkin's Southern Soul Barbecue in Georgia, "believe it or not, that's what happened. And it hasn't really stopped ever since." So without further ado, here are the confirmed Dallas restaurants.

1. Tacos Mariachi

You'll find Tacos Mariachi on Episode 2 season 28 of DDD.  Listed on Food Network as a purveyor of "standout seafood tacos and unique mole fries," this episode is a must-watch!

2. Nora Restaurant and Bar

On Greenville Avenue, Nora's is also featured in Episode 2 following Tacos Mariachi. Cooking up "lights-out dishes straight from Afghanistan," this is one restaurant that can't be missed. As GuideLive reported, it's the first Afghan restaurant featured on the show. Apparently, Fieri is very impressed with the restaurant's use of black cardamom.

3. One90 Smoked Meats

Episode 3 features One90's incredible lineup of sandwiches. Titled 'Bird and Beef', it promises "a meaty spot smoking up the duck and piling up the brisket." Does it get anymore Texas than that? In Flavortown, it doesn't.

4. Whistle Britches

In the fourth episode of the season, you'll find Whistle Britches serving up "all kinds of the off-the-chain chicken." Marshi, one of the partners at Whistle Britches told GuideLive that their "chicken and waffles and a sandwich called the Hot Dang: Nashville-style hot crispy chicken served with dill ranch and bread and butter pickles" would appear as their featured dishes.

We can't wait to see some glamour shots of that juicy fried chicken.

5. Tutta's Pizza

Fieri headed over to Tutta's Pizza for a look at Texan twists on the classic pie. The featured pizza was aptly named the Texan and featured a barbecue sauce base that's topped with smoked brisket, pepperoncinis, red onion, and mozzarella. Talk about good food.

6. CrushCraft Thai

This delicious Thai joint has us salivating!

Here's a list of the Dallas spots that have appeared in other seasons of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

  • Twisted Root Burger Co
  • Pecan Lodge
  • Maple and Motor
  • Cane Rosso
  • Pepe's and Mito's
  • Avila's
  • Louie's
  • Afrah

Which Dallas or Fort Worth spot would you send Fieri to? Maybe next season will find him touring Texas and visiting places outside the DFW area, like San Antonio and Austin.
