No longer do you have to wait for the annual distribution of Girl Scout Cookies through those hyper-specialized sales team members we like to call the Girl Scouts. That’s right, as of right now, you Amazon Prime users can have those cookies in your hands within 48 hours.
However, the fact that you can buy Girl Scout cookies on Amazon is sparking controversy. For starters, to purchase a box online, you are going to be shelling out $8- $11 a box, which is quite a jump from the $5 you need to purchase them on the street.
Secondly, The Girl Scouts of America told POPSUGAR,
“We caution against purchases of Girl Scout Cookies found for sale online at auction and via community list sites, such as eBay and Amazon, because GSUSA, your local Girl Scout council, and our licensed cookie bakers cannot guarantee the freshness or integrity of these cookies.
In many instances, these cookies are actually expired. Further, purchasing cookies in this way does not support Girl Scouts participating in the cookie program.”
Today was our last day of cookie sales! Our 2 girls were great, the sunshine felt amazing, and it's honestly a relief to be done minus a few loose ends. Since I lead 2 troops my daisy daughter participates and helps out where she can. She's my mini super-scout and has accomplished way beyond her goal. I'm not only proud of her as her troop leader but even more so as her mother 😍🤗 #girlscouts #gsgwm #girlscoutleader #daisyleader #girlscoutcookies #gscookieboss #daisygirlscouts
So who should take part?
Well, for those of you in that awkward stage somewhere between your early 20s and 30s where it seems that you cannot find a single Girl Scout that you know, online orders might be your best solution.
Cookies are being sold by Scouts through April. So, if you are able to locate some cheerful girls in green uniforms that are selling these crave-able treats, you might want to stock up.
Having some extra Thin Mints in storage was never a bad idea. Besides, they taste great frozen.
Plus, you know that by buying them directly from the source your purchase is going toward a good cause.
