For its third annual free cone day, you can get a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone on Monday, March 20, the first day of spring. To participate, DQ locations nationwide will give away free small vanilla cones, with one sweet request in return, according to TODAY and a Dairy Queen spokesperson.
The company is encouraging patrons to place what they might have paid for the cone into their counter jars that benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It’s not a requirement, though it might make you feel a little better. After all, you’re getting a cone for free!
All of your donations will go to your local children’s hospital, keeping your donation in your community, a fact Dairy Queen prides itself on.
In 2016, the “stores raised more than $200,000 nationwide and over the past 32 years, Dairy Queen has raised more than $120 million for the cause.”
So cure your case of the Mondays with a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone, and maybe drop a few dollars into the jar on the counter to benefit children in your area who need medical help.
