Do You Love the Same Food Brands as Most Americans?

Everyone has preferences. Some like mustard on their hot dog, while others prefer ketchup. There are white wine people, red wine people, and, our personal favorite, PBR people. In terms of food, preferences can often be brand-based, too. Brand Keys has compiled data in order to show us the food brands customers are most loyal to. Read on to find out if your favorite brand has made the list.

The data covers 83 broad categories with a narrower view of 740 specific brands. Brand Keys looked at “drivers” that separate one brand from another. An intro to the data goes as follows:

“These drivers not only define how the consumer will view the category, compare offerings, and, ultimately, buy, but also identify the expectations the consumer holds for each driver. The brand whose drivers come closest to meeting (or even exceeding) those of the category Ideal is always the one whose customers will demonstrate the highest levels of engagement and loyalty over the next 12 to 18 months.”

JetBlue is the airline that customers are the most loyal to. Rumor has it that the Denver International Airport has the best airport food in the country, so take a flight there and check it out for yourself.

Coors crushes both the light and regular beer categories, and Grey Goose is the vodka we’re most loyal to.

Johnnie Walker is supposedly the whiskey brand we’re most engaged with, but some of us have been hanging out with Jack Daniels much longer than that Johnnie guy. We digress.

If you prefer tequila, this study shows that you probably prefer Patron. Need some caffeine to fight off all of this booze? If you’re making it at home, Brand Keys points to Folgers and Dunkin’ Donuts. If you’re going to a coffee shop, Dunkin’ Donuts is there at the top alongside Starbucks.

Speaking of coffee, what does the loyalty of Americans lie when it comes to breakfast foods? Kind bars are our nation’s breakfast bar of choice. Chobani and Yoplait take a tie for yogurt, too.

Like Coors, Coca-Cola rules both regular and diet sodas. While we’re on the subject of unhealthy beverages, Red Bull is the energy drink we’re loyal to. We’ll pass on Coke, Diet Coke, and Red Bull, but we do love Trader Joe’s. Good ol’ TJ’s took the cake for the natural food store category.

For fast food, Chick-fil-A won. Panera and Five Guys are our preferred casual and fast-casual spots, and when we crave pizza we will more than likely head to Domino’s.

There are other food-related categories on the Brand Keys PDF, but we’ll let you do a little exploring for yourselves.

After you take a peek at the data, let us know if you agree. Are Snyder’s pretzels really the brand that you feel most loyal to?
