Taco Bell’s ‘Steal a Base, Steal a Taco’ Returns for World Series

Baseball fans around America are rejoicing this week as the World Series returns, and whether you're cheering on the Astros or the Dodgers — or rooting against both — Taco Bell may make everyone in the country a winner (of a free Doritos Locos Taco) with the return of its Steal a Base, Steal a Taco campaign.

It's pretty simple: If a base is stolen during Game One or Game Two (Oct. 24 and Oct. 25), everyone in the country gets a free Doritos Locos Taco from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. If a base is stolen during Game Three or any subsequent, everyone in America gets a Doritos Locos Taco from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Last year, Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor made millions of Taco Bell fans the country over very, very happy when he lined a single and stole second off Chicago Cubs starter Jon Lester during the Indians' 6-0 win in Game 1 of the 2016 World Series.

In a press conference after that game, a reporter asked Lindor if he knew about Taco Bell's promotion. Turns out he did, responding, "The guys told me... Have some tacos! I'll probably have some tacos, too." Who will make history this year? Keep watching the World Series to see if we all win.

Editor's Update: November 1, 2017

Thanks to Houston Astros outfielder Cameron Maybin, everyone in America receives one free Doritos Locos Taco today. After stealing a base in the 11th inning of a breathless Game 2, he became the taco hero of the game.

Taco Bell locations across the country will hand out the Doritos tacos to customers between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1.
