While some are still mourning the sunset of the Naked Chicken Chalupa — “the chalupa with a fried-chicken shell” — Brand Eating reports Taco Bell has announced the testing of three new menu items during March — including a mash-up of two of its more popular items.
The Doritos Quesalupa Crunch, fashioned after the Cheesy Gordita Crunch, features a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco shell inside of a Quesalupa shell with a layer of nacho cheese between them.
Inside the taco is the standard combination of seasoned beef, lettuce and cheese. The Doritos Quesalupa Crunch is available from March 2 to April 8 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
In Flint, Michigan, Taco Bell’s new Chicken Enchilada Burrito includes two rolled “enchiladas” (taquitos) with seasoned rice, red sauce or nacho cheese (the “Cheesy Loaded” version), sour cream and three-cheese blend wrapped in a flour tortilla.
Finally, locations in Nashville, Tennessee, will see the return of the Caesar Crunchwrap, which tested in other markets last years.
The pressed, hexagonal-folded flour tortilla contains, in essence, a Caesar salad: chicken (or steak), parmesan and corn crisps, Romaine lettuce, green-chile Caesar dressing, three-cheese blend and tomatoes.
