Sauza Tequila’s 8 Best Margarita Recipes You’ll Sip All Summer Long

If you are a margarita lover, Cinco de Mayo is as exciting for you as Christmas morning is for a kid. Casa Sauza has been creating craft tequila for over 140 years, so if you’re into margaritas, chances are you’ve mixed one up with them.

Sauza tequilas are carefully produced using a unique method known as fresh pressed agave. They use the nectar of the finest blue weber agave, found in a specific region of Mexico, and cook the juices only after they’ve been extracted from the piña. This innovative approach ensures that Sauza’s agave flavors are their freshest and most pure, perfect for mixing into a margarita.

Traditionally, a margarita is a simple mix of lime juice, blanco or silver tequila, rocks and salt. While delicious already, adding a few flavors only enhances the flavor. Think strawberry, chocolate and even peppers.

In fact, in Mexico, mixologists are constantly experimenting with local fruits and flavors to make margaritas more exciting, like prickly pear, spicy peppers, coconuts and more. Also, if you’re thinking about swapping out blanco or silver tequila for aged varieties like reposado and anjejo, your margarita might be a bit off.

Blanco or silver tequila is used because this tequila is young, only aged in oak for up for two months, so the strong flavor mixes well with additions. If you swap out an aged tequila, you’ll take on the oaky flavor tequila that purists will tell you should actually be reserved for sipping.

Instead, opt for some of the unique flavored tequilas like Sauza’s Chili Cucumber Tequila for flavor-enhanced margaritas. Using only the purest ingredients, Sauza has created a menu of margarita recipes perfect for your Cinco de Mayo celebration.
