Author, food writer, photographer, blogger and television personality Ree Drummond has added another notch to her belt — The Pioneer Woman released the first book in her new children’s series March 28, and is planning a mini-tour in support of the book.
“Little Ree” is Drummond’s first foray into children’s writing, a semi-autobiographical story of Drummond’s transition to country life following her marriage, seen through the eyes of a young girl named Ree.
Said Drummond of the book,
“Starting with her first night (just like me), she experiences a few unexpected wrinkles. Things just don’t quite go the way she had imagined! But even though she faces a few challenges, she eventually sees that being a country girl is a pretty cool thing.”
The book is illustrated by Jacqueline Rogers.
“Little Ree” is currently available at Amazon and bookstores around the country and, if you’re lucky enough to live in a select few states, Drummond could be headed your way.
Her March mini-tour includes stops in North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. Drummond’s stops include:
- Barnes and Noble in Greensboro, North Carolina (3102 Northline Ave.) at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 29
- Decatur Library in Decatur, Georgia (215 Sycamore St.) at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30
- Parnassus in Nashville, Tennessee (3900 Hillsboro Pike) at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 31.
April dates in Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas will be announced soon — check back here for updates and details.
