Slow-Cooker French Dip Sandwiches

These French Dip Sandwiches are made in the slow cooker to produce tender and juicy roast beef with a flavorful au jus to dip in.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 lb rump roast
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup lager beer
  • 6 french rolls
  • 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Trim excess fat from rump roast if needed and place into slow cooker. Add the beef broth, onion, and lager. Cook on low until tender, about 7 hours.
  • Remove beef from slow cooker and slice thinly on the diagonal. Place on rolls. Add nutmeg to au jus and stir. Serve sandwiches with a cup of au jus.

Notes

The beef can also be cooked on high for 3-4 hours.
If you want to add a kick to your sandwiches, serve some horseradish on the side.
