Martha Stewart Launches New Wine-to-Door Subscription

Martha Stewart knows a thing or two about throwing parties. She has it all covered from soup to nuts. For years, she has been our go-to for inspiration in everything from home design to holiday centerpieces and more. Now, Martha Stewart is entering the wine game, and it will no doubt be a hit with her fans across the country.

As she explained on her website,

The Martha Stewart Wine Co. is a direct-to-consumer service featuring carefully curated bottles that are delivered straight to your home or office. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy your favorite wines with friends and family. And, we’ve included a special collection of my own personal favorites – the wines I reach for first whenever I entertain.”

The wines will change seasonally to reflect the recipes she is favoring on her website, shows and magazine, as well as major holidays and events.  If you’re not sure how much wine you need to order for a special occasion, a tool onsite will help you determine the ideal number of bottles to order.

You can also find food pairing suggestions from simple wine and cheese ideas to more elaborate ideas and educational information on using the proper proper stemware, pour techniques, and etiquette.

There is a wine club component in which wine lovers and Martha fans can have her curated selection of shipped to them automatically every six to eight weeks.

You can choose an all white or all red shipment or one that mixes them up, but you won’t get to choose the specific wines. Martha will be doing that. And if you don’t like what she picked, let them know and you will get a credit towards our next month.

This isn’t her first foray into the wine world. When Stewart headed Martha Stewart Omnimedia, she partnered with E&J Gallo to curate and create affordable wines under the Martha Stewart Vintage label. This time around she has enlisted the help of French Laundry sommelier Chris Hoel and promises that the wines will be a hit with something for everyone and every occasion.

She added,

“Wine has played an important role in that part of my life focused on entertaining and teaching others how to entertain. With the launch of this fabulous online wine shop, I’m confident that we can teach consumers how to enjoy the right wine at every occasion.”

Martha was hands  – and mouth –  on in the project, tasting every varietal and selecting exactly what to offer for sale.

As she discusses the process, she also noted,

“I personally taste and choose every wine we offer. Among them are a few of my favorites, such as: 2013 Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel from California, 2016 Villa Ruby Rosé from Méditerranée IGP, France, Abazzia Moscato Rose from Italy, 2016 Spencer Family Vintners Sauvignon Blanc from California, and 2016 Cuvee Joelle Malbec et Merlot from Comte Tolosan, France, L’Archee Perlee Cremant d’Bordeaux from France, and 2015 Marquis de Bacalan Bordeaux Blanc from Bordeaux, France.”
