Austin barbecue favorite La Barbecue has a new address. The ‘cue crew has teamed up with Quickie Pickie on East Cesar Chavez, just minutes away from their previous location, and the place is better than ever.
Now located on 2027 E. Cesar Chavez in the Quickie Pickie East Cesar Chavez kitchen, the barbecue joint shares indoor and outdoor seating with the market, but they have full use of the market’s kitchen. That means more brisket, pulled pork and sammies for everyone!
Credit for the idea to pair up goes to Quickie Pickie owner Zahir Prasla. “We thought it would be a fantastic partnership,” co-owner Ali Clem told Eater in an interview, “with his fantastic selection of beer and wine for our customers and coffee for the early birds.”
This isn’t the only address change for La Barbecue. They have plans to take their meat wagon to LA sometime in September. Pitmaster Brendan Lamb and Ali Clem plan to take their previous trailer out to begin sharing Texas barbecue with the West Coast. Details aren’t available yet, but keep an eye on the La Barbecue website for details.
