Krispy Kreme Goes Green for St. Patrick’s Day

If there’s a holiday that can be turned into a doughnut, you can bet your bottom dollar that Krispy Kreme will do just that. The iconic doughnut chain took advantage of the eclipse in 2017, released the sweetest Christmas doughnuts, and even allowed customers to vote for the newest flavor of doughnuts that will be on shelves for a limited time this spring. Now, however, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is re-releasing their green Original Glazed doughnut that debuted last year for St. Patrick’s Day.

The O’riginal Glazed is the traditional yeast dount you expect from Krispy Kreme, but it’s made with green dough. The iconic original glazed doughnut uses green-tinted dough from the inside out. Is there a better way to avoid a pinch on St. Patrick’s Day than grabbing one of these green donuts?

The donuts will be in stores on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17, at participating Krispy Kreme locations in the United States and Canada. As Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts announced in a press release,

“Krispy Kreme O’riginal Glazed Doughnuts are fun to eat all on their own, so we thought there is no better way to dial up the fun than going green for St. Patrick’s Day. We know many people also celebrate the holiday Friday, so we’re making the O’riginal Glazed Doughnuts available that day, too.”

So if you’re looking for a nice treat to bring your coworkers or send to your kiddo’s school in the morning, Krispy Kreme is where you can get your last-minute St. Patrick’s Day fix.

The Hershey’s Gold

After Hershey released the first new kind of candy bar in over 110 years with Hershey’s Gold, the fourth flavor for the brand, Krispy Kreme debuted a new donut, the Hershey’s Gold.

The salty sweet doughnut flavor features a caramelized creme base with salty peanuts and pretzel bites. This creates a smooth, buttery taste that’s finished with a crunch finish.

This doughnut will only be available for a limited time in America, so head on out to your local Krispy Kreme for a taste before it’s gone.
