KitchenAid's First 'Color of the Year' Isn't the Gorgeous Shade You'd Expect

KitchenAid, one of our favorite home goods companies, has always been in the forefront of introducing home cooks everywhere to beautiful (and colorful) countertop appliances. With over 20 vibrant colors to choose from, KitchenAid is a brand you can count on to think of a new hue to amp up your kitchen and home decor. This year at the International Housewares show in Chicago, KitchenAid announced their first-ever color of the year series, and the color of 2018 is drop-dead gorgeous.

This year's inaugural color is named, "Bird of Paradise" and gives of a tropical vibe. Jessica McConnell, senior manager of Global Consumer Design stated that, "Bird of Paradise is an exotic getaway in a color, the vibrant coral hue is uplifting and fresh, with just a touch of nostalgia." We couldn't agree with you more, Jessica.

KitchenAid Stand Artisan Series 5 Quart Stand Mixer, 'Color of the Year' edition

The inaugural color, named after the tropical plant, Bird of Paradise, gives off a fun and happy feeling you'll totally embody while using your new artisan stand mixer. It'll feel like your kitchen is part of a tropical paradise-that doesn't sound too shabby to me.

And don't think that this new color is only for the stand mixers. No, in fact this vibrant coral color is debuting in a variety of various KitchenAid countertop appliances.
