KFC Introduces Limited-Time Pickle Fried Chicken

Everybody keep calm! Kentucky Fried Chicken has announced their newest menu item for the summer and it's game-changing. The fast food chicken chain, famed for it's secret blend of 11 herbs and spices, is bringing on a new menu item to please pickle lovers everywhere. For a limited time customers can order pickle fried chicken from KFC stores across America.

It's nothing new for Kentucky Fried Chicken to experiment with new flavors and nifty menu items. Back in the 1970's they experimented with extra crispy chicken and just recently introduced Nashville Hot, Georgia Gold and Smoky Mountain BBQ to their offerings. And let's not forget about the southern chicken and waffles test going on in North Carolina.

KFC isn't the first one to jump on the pickle train this summer. Sonic Drive-In recently introduced a pickle juice slush. But KFC is the first fast food chain to offer pickle-flavored chicken. And for that, we thank them.

The Pickle Fried Chicken is prepared like any other piece of chicken from KFC in its signature crunchy coating. What makes this chicken different is the special sauce they dab on. According to KFC the sauce is a blend of dill, vinegar, onion, garlic, buttermilk, white and black pepper. Customers can order the saucey chicken as a Crispy Colonel Sandwich, Extra Crispy Tenders, Chicken Littles, and Extra Crispy Chicken.

"People are crazy about pickles, and pickle-flavored products are becoming today's trendiest menu item," said Andrea Zahumensky, KFC U.S. CMO. "Pickles and fried chicken are a match made in heaven, with tastemakers everywhere pairing these flavors."

You better act fast and head over to the closest KFC location. According to the Colonel the chicken will be available from Monday June 25th to when supplies last. It's rumored to last only a few weeks at best.

When the sandwiches run out consider making up a batch of our pickle-brined chicken to curb your cravings. Unlike the chicken at KFC, it doesn't have an expiration date.
