Houston Chick-fil-A Begins Initiative to Send a Full Meal to New Parents

The fast food giant Chick-fil-A always has your back, even when it comes to new additions to the family. Local Houston Chick-fil-A at Holcombe & Buffalo Speedway is taking care of the first meal at home for new parents and new mom and dads are so thankful.

Franchise Operator, Juli Salvagio and the rest of her Chick-fil-A team has provided over 100 meals to families leaving the hospital with the new baby through the restaurant's "New Moms" program.

Each family receives a 30-count nugget tray, waffle fries, two fruit cups, a six-count of chocolate chip cookies and a Chick-fil-A baby blanket.

"It's something we do that's near and dear to our hearts," says Salvagio. "We hope that by providing a fresh, hot meal the whole family can enjoy on their first day at home, they'll be able to experience a much-needed sense of normalcy during what's typically a chaotic time."

Salvagio, a mom of three kinds herself, started the program after seeing an influx of new parents coming in to pick up food after leaving the nearby hospital.

"There is nothing more important to us than supporting our community," Salvagio told The Chicken Wire. "To us, providing a meal to these families is something simple we can do to make their lives easier when it matters most."

Know someone who is expecting? Here's how they can get the free dinner:

New moms to be (who are located within 3-miles of the restaurant) can sign up by "liking" the Holcombe & Buffalo Speedway Chick-fil-A Facebook page and signing up for the meal.

Once the baby arrives, notify the restaurant and they will prepare your dinner for you, free of charge.
