Guy Fieri Gives at Least 6 Houston Restaurants the Triple D Treatment

Celebrity chef, author, restauranteur and TV personality Guy Fieri is in Houston this week filming in a number of local restaurants for his show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”, Culture Map Houston reported. On his visit, Fieri was spotted about town at Original Irma’s with Houston Astros veteran Jeff Bagwell and at Cuchara with Dan Pastorini, former Oilers QB. It’s always a surprise to see the guests Fieri brings out of the woodwork to help him learn his way around a city on camera.

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” has turned into a hugely popular concept, stemming from Fieri’s days on the second season of “Food Network Star”, which he won in 2006. The visits to local restaurants across the country boost the business’ profits almost 500 percent and allow local favorites to receive recognition on a national stage.

Fieri’s visit to Houston includes a number of the Bayou City’s best-loved restaurants including Cool Runnings Jamaican cafe.

Fieri last visited Houston in 2009, with stops at Kenny & Ziggy’s, Red Lion Pub, Cafe Pita+, Niko Niko’s and Lankford Grocery.

Because no one can get enough of Houston, Fieri will be back in town in just four weeks to host The Players Tailgate Party before Super Bowl LI.
