Bobby Flay and Damaris Phillips are teaming up to star in a new cooking show. Winner of Food Network Star, Season 9 and host of Southern at Heart, Damaris Phillips fills the Southern cooking gap with her Kentucky favorites, and we all know that Bobby Flay does Southwestern cooking like no other. The announcement came via Damaris Phillips’ Facebook where she was so excited to share the news with her friends.
The thirteen-episode series will premiere Sunday, September 3rd and will give viewers a chance to go inside Bobby’s home. Check it out Phillips’ post below.
What you can't read on those hats is "The Bobby and Damaris Show"! That's right folks Chef Bobbyflay and I are sharing…
In a release, Food Network said, “Bobby opens his home to viewers and, along with his friend Damaris Phillips, the two cook together and chat up a storm.”
The two met when Bobby hosted and Damaris won Food Network Star season nine. The two meshed instantly and Damaris now considers Bobby her mentor. The episode themes for their show include grilling, game day menus, fall apple feasts, and more.
Food Network chefs Ina Garten, Alex Guarnaschelli and Katie Lee are all scheduled to make guest appearances. Courtney White, Senior Vice President, Programming, Scripps Networks Interactive, said of the pairing:
“Bobby says he knew from the moment he met Damaris on Food Network Star that they were going to be friends – and their fun-filled banter and good-natured laughs are sure to entertain and even have viewers asking how they can score their own invitation. Our audience will feel like they are spending a casual afternoon with friends, great food and conversation.”
In the premiere episode, Damaris mixes a cool Mango Bellini as the two share their secrets to great backyard entertaining for a grill-themed show.
From the patio, they head to Bobby’s outdoor kitchen where he fires up the coals to make Mediterranean Grilled Chicken with Green Olive Salsa Verde and Grilled Potatoes with Smoked Paprika Vinaigrette, and Damaris wraps up with a sweet spin on grilling with her Grilled Citrus Icebox Pie.
