Attention Texans, Paula Deen's Family Kitchen Is Officially Open

If you've been waiting with bated breath for one of the two brand new locations of Paula Deen's Southern Kitchen to open in Texas, then you are certainly in luck because the Fairview location is officially open. Located about 30 miles from Dallas in the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States, it is ready and waiting for the 7,000,000 residents in the area to flood through the doors and order up some Southern Fried Chicken and the famous Paula's Ooey Gooey Butter cake.

In a press release, Paula Deen spoke highly of the new location and its already-obsessed fans. "I adore all of my fans in Texas and bringing my Southern cooking to the Lone Star State is something I have dreamed about for years. This is the perfect place to bring together family, friends, and great Southern food—three of my favorite things!" So what can you expect at Paula Deen's Family Kitchen in the Fairview Town Center?

At the first-ever Texas location, you can order food family-style just like the Deen family would serve it up in Savannah. The Deen family opened Lady & Sons in downtown Savannah in 1996. Paula Deen's Family Kitchen already has locations in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A second Texas restaurant location in San Antonio is expected to open this spring in addition to the Dallas-Fort Worth location in Fairview. The location includes a 250-seat dining room and The Paula Deen Store which, much like Cracker Barrel, is where guests can purchase Paula's home, kitchen, and lifestyle collections.

On the menu, you'll find Southern classics and seafood favorites with a Savannah flair. The wide variety of dishes, served in large platters to fill a hungry family, feature everything from Spare Ribs to Chargrilled Oysters to Baked Mac & Cheese to Fried Okra. As Deen said in the newsletter, "I have taken my favorite recipes and brought them to life in an atmosphere that feels just like my own home."

Visit a location and you'll know exactly what the classic Deen family dinner is like in the one-of-a-kind dining experience.

If you wait to visit, you can take part in the interactive cooking experience called "Cooking with Paula" that will open in the coming months. As founder and CEO of Phoenix Hospitality and Entertainment, Inc. Rajat Shah said in the press release, "We can't wait to bring the love and warmth Paula Deen's Family Kitchen to Dallas. Paula's fans and guests are going to love the 'Cooking with Paula' experience we are launching later this year."

So the only question is, when will you visit the first-ever Texas location?
