When Fictional Food Becomes Real: Pulp Fiction’s Big Kahuna Burger

Remember that scene in Pulp Fiction where Samuel L. Jackson chomps on a Big Kahuna burger? It was one of those iconic cult classic scenes that reinforced Samuel L. Jackson as the man, and Quentin Tarantino as the master of verbiage. And more than that, it made us hungry. Very, very hungry.

The idea of sinking your teeth into a Big Kahuna burger joined the list of fantasied fictional foods alongside Willy Wonka's Everlasting Gobstopper and Home Alone's Little Nero cheese pizza. But thanks to popular demand, some of these foods have become reality.

And in the case of the Big Kahuna, we have Binging with Babish to thank.

Going to the extreme that only a true burger lover - or Pulp Fiction fan - would achieve, Babish has dissected the composition of a real life Big Kahuna burger. From prepping the Hawaiian bun to grilling the pineapple, the Big Kahuna is one tasty burger.

Now that is a nutritious breakfast. I mean, you got your protein, your fruit, your bread, and your veggies - ketchup counts right?

I think that Samuel L. Jackson himself would approve. And let's hope so, because you saw what happened to those guys.

Now if only someone would tell us what is really in a $5 shake. . .
