Attention frustrated hunters: You have no need to be worried about walking away empty-handed again this deer-hunting season. Arby’s venison sandwiches are on their way to a state (possibly) near you.
Some may feel Arby’s is taking the thrill out of thrill of the hunt, but the roast beef moguls have been racking up trophies of late by offering non-traditional menu items. In case you missed it, we’re referencing limited-release offerings like their recent pork belly feature. Mmm, pork belly.
Rob Lynch, Arby’s chief marketing officer, stands behind the fast food chain’s decision to sell this niche food item. And he thinks it tastes pretty darn good, too.
In the sandwich’s press release, Lynch said, “We’re a brand that’s not afraid to take risks, and while the venison sandwich is probably the biggest stretch for us yet, it’s incredibly delicious and we can’t wait to get it in the hands of our guests.”
The venison sandwich will be sold in select stores in just six states (Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) from Halloween to November 28. Check the press release to find the location nearest to you.
Limited-time, seasonal fast food items have worked for other chains in the past. It goes without saying that everyone looks forward to McDonald’s Shamrock Shake come February. The real question is whether these new sandwiches will be a bull’s eye or if they’ll force customers to begrudgingly mutter, “Oh, deer.”
