Mattie Jackson, Alan Jackson’s Daughter, Opened a Wine Bar in Nashville

If you’re a fan of country music, then you probably know one or two of Alan Jackson’s little ditties. However, it’s another Jackson that’s coming onto the Nashville scene in her own way.

Mattie Jackson, a certified sommelier, and Hannah Schneider opened Salt & Vine in the up-and-coming Sylvan Heights neighborhood of West Nashville. The wine list is put together by Jackson herself as she rotates a list of 25 wines by the glass. The wine bar also specializes in small plates, and holds wine tastings occasionally. The interior of Salt & Vine is undeniably chic and cozy, with pops of yellow among a slate and grey-focused color scheme.

Jackson, upon her move back home to Nashville from Austin, Texas, decided she wanted to “take the pretension out of wine,” as she said in an interview with Nashville Lifestyles. The wine bar is run by an all-star, all-girl squad, with head chef Molly Martin behind the wheel of the food directions.

In a recent interview with Food & Wine, the dynamic duo revealed that when you hear country music drifting from the wine bar, it’s most likely Mattie Jackson’s choice. We wonder why.
