Nutella lovers are about to go wild because the first official Nutella Café is opening in Chicago. Like walking to a jar of Nutella itself, the café is designed to look, feel, and of course taste, like Nutella. Ferrero USA is going all out for Nutella enthusiasts with this expansion in Chicago’s Millennium Park Plaza and dining at the Nutella Café is like jumping into a jar of the chocolate-hazelnut spread.
Upon entering the new café located on Michigan Avenue near Millennium Park, guests are greeted with a Nutella shaped door and sign to boot. Inside awaits white walls with red accents that mimmic the Nutella label color scheme. Guests can opt for communal seating to discuss the delicious chocolate-hazelnut spread, or snuggle into more intimate cafe style seating while enjoying their meal.
Beyond the clever interior decorating, the Nutella cafe menu is filled with creamy treats that would satisfy any Nutella craving, with Nutella drizzle abound. Fans can sip on a cup of coffee while enjoying a Nutella filled crepe or dig into a plate of waffles with Nutella drizzled over the top.
Not a sweets fan? Don’t worry, they’ve got you covered without the chocolate spread. The menu will also feature savory items that are inspired by Nutella, but don’t actually include the spread. So while your sweet toothed friend can munch on Nutella fondue, you can eat your savory panini. Fruit salad and blueberry granola will even be offered at the Nutella counter bar.
This is the first Nutella Café to open in North America by Ferraro – the makers of Nutella themselves. When asked about why they chose Chicago, head of marketing Noah Szporn told the Chicago Tribune,
“The food culture here is amazing … Chicago is different than other major cities. We wanted to be a part of that, with our food bringing people together.”
Choosing a location that is easily accessible in the heart of the country means everyone can enjoy an inviting trip to the café that celebrates all things regarding the famous hazelnut spread.
For those of you who are overwhelmed with glee, you’ll want to take May 31st off because the café is offering special surprises to the first 400 patrons. While we can only speculate as to what the surprise will be, we’re certain it will include Nutella.
